Painted Felicia as an assignment for my vector class. The first image I did entirely in illustrator for a long time. I actually think it turned out spectacular, great depth on the scarf and eyes. Good detail on the hair. Added the texture in Photoshop afterward.

This is a character assignment I made for school. Real good practice in anatomy and… stuff.

Reflections. Reactions. I’m fascinated by our relationship to technology and our dependence on it. As much as it enables us to do great things we are also at the whim of it or who ever controls it. Often I feel powerless at mercy of it or the lack of it, responding with aggression, fear or dejection. These are a few representations of my feeling for it mad in classic stencil style but I also try to make use of the digital medium by using depth of field , textures and photographs.

This is the first thing I’ve ever drawn where I looked at it at felt pleased with what I’ve done. So far everything I’ve painted has been exercises in different techniques but with this one I really felt like I was done with those. I am good, time to get what I feel and think down in pixels, not just technique. Oh, you can also find a step by step of the making here.

This was piece was really just an experiment for me so there is no hi-res version. Sorry. I think it turned out pretty well though so you can expect more of the same in the future.
